Brookside is getting a new playground! We’ve been working with Fora Landscape Architects to redesign our playground. The project is focused on the part of our recess area that currently has wood chips. The wood chips will be swapped with rubberized tiles and the fixed equipment in that area will be replaced. This work will also improve the drainage in the area and allow us to keep all parts of it open for student use during rainy weeks. I initially hoped to keep to the timeline where the work would be completed before students return in fall. Although we were able to collect and provide feedback from our students and community to Fora very quickly, their work with the equipment vendor has taken longer than expected. This will mean the playground will not be fully installed when our kids return in fall. Our field and other areas will still be open. 

Students and community members were invited to fill out a survey regarding color preferences before school let out for the year.
